Migration and Storage Consolidation
Data migration is an integral part of PoINT Storage Manager. The PoINT VFS integrates obsolete systems (e.g. MO/WORM jukeboxes) and new systems into a consolidated storage solution (storage consolidation).

Files of the old storage system are directly accessible by PoINT VFS which integrates the file system of the old system and which seamlessly migrates files from the old system to the new system in the background. New files are written directly to the new system and the old system can be removed after migration is finished. This way, an uninterruptable operation of the application (e.g. a DMS/ECM) is possible even during migration.
