2003-05-20: PoINT Software & Systems and Magix AG extend partnership

Software developer for optical storage media complements product portfolio of the Personal Rich Media market leader with base technologies to format and burn DVDs

SIEGEN/BERLIN, Germany, May 20, 2003. After many years of cooperatively developing professional applications for the Personal Rich Media market PoINT Software & Systems GmbH and Magix AG now entered into a strategic partnership. For future releases of its CD and DVD burning and digital slide show software Magix will continue to rely on the newest base technologies developed by the storage specialist of Siegen.

“PoINT's audio/video SDK has proven successful as an easy to integrate programming interface into our software for burning video CDs, super video CDs and DVD videos”, says Dieter Rein, general manager at Magix. “We would like to maintain such a reliable partnership. The AVSDK does not require special knowledge of complex format specifications and was easily integrated into our high-quality video editing systems and DVD Authoring applications to format and burn CDs or DVDs. Thus, we did not have to implement development resources for the integration of CD/DVD recorders”, explains Rein. Especially with regard to the currently rather short product life of CD/DVD recorders this, so Rein, constitutes a high savings potential.

“Magix’ products set standards in the market for multimedia applications", explains Bernd Klee, general manager at PoINT Software & Systems. “This is only possible through constant innovation, which is also reflected in the continuous enhancements and further development of our SDKs.”

MAGIX AG, headquartered in Berlin, was founded in Germany in 1984 as a software developing company.
