2006-09-20: Systems 2006: PoINT presents new storage solutions for efficient archival

Siegen. PoINT Software & Systems GmbH presents their latest storage solutions for efficient archival on optical media on occasion of the Systems. The storage specialist will show its Jukebox Manager – a software solution for secure archival of business critical data – at the booth of the storage distributor INCOM Storage GmbH (A70). Only recently, the software has been certified by DocuWare AG and it complies with the high expectations of latest archive systems (e.g. mirroring and server clustering). Moreover, PoINT will present PoINT Archiver at the INCOM booth. This software solution enables automated, secure and cost efficient archival of business critical documents. Both, PoINT Archiver and PoINT Publisher, will be presented at the booth of Primera Europe (Booth A069/B068) – a leading producer of CD/DVD/BD production systems and special printers. PoINT Publisher supports companies as regards the automated production of individually designed CDs and DVDs, respectively.

PoINT Jukebox Manager 5.0 allows secure data archival – manipulation impossible

By using PoINT Jukebox Manager 5.0 enterprises will be able to archive their files fast and securely. Thereby, files will be stored on WORM-media. This way, the data cannot be changed physically and thus manipulation is impossible. By an optional media mirroring PoINT Jukebox Manager creates media with same contents. If requested, they can for example be stored in different locations in two different jukebox systems like two separated fire protection areas. This increases the level of data security even more. Additionally, data will remain on hard disk as long as the optical media has been written completely and flawlessly. The individual archive application will access the data over the file system as usually. Jukebox Manager supports various technologies and media, among them CD, DVD, Magnetical Optical Disc (MO), Professional Disc for Data (PDD), Ultra Density Optical (UDO) as well as Blu-ray Discs (BD). PoINT Jukebox Manager will be presented at the booth of INCOM Storage GmbH (Booth A070).

Secure archival using standard hardware

PoINT Archiver is a software solution which monitors any network directory according to a rule defined by the user (e.g. periodically) and which stores the data on optical media. The software archives files fully automatically, retrieves these files, enables authentication and controls data integrity and security. PoINT Archiver supports optical media (CD, DVD and Blu-Ray discs) and uses either Universal Disk Format (UDF) or PoINT Secure File System as file system. PoINT Archiver will be exhibited at the booths of Primera Europe (Booth A069/B068) and INCOM Storage (Booth A070).

PoINT Publisher optimizes disc production

For companies interested in the professional CD/DVD production, PoINT presents its PoINT Publisher with its modular concept. The software is able to control multiple recorders and one autoloader for media rotation in a fully automatic production environment. This enables “On-demand Publishing”, which mostly produces individually created discs on demand out of already existing data. PoINT Publisher will be exhibited at the Primera booth (A069/B068).
