Company History

Already since 1985, PoINT Software & Systems has been internationally successful with software solutions in the storage field. Initially being a world-wide acting Competence Center of Philips mainly in the field of optical storage and afterwards included in the European project organization of Digital Equipment (DEC) GmbH. Besides the development of innovative software products for the CD-recordable, our team has affected significantly the establishment and standardization of all essential CD technologies.

This division was divested from Digital Equipment in 1994, with PoINT keeping all products and corresponding rights and being taken over by former leading staff and by establishing PoINT Software & Systems GmbH on December 5th, 1994 it was continued as an independent company.
