Archiving

Configurable filters and rules define which files are to be archived with PoINT Archiver. The source directories can be located on any system throughout the network accessible for PoINT Archiver.

While an archive Job Cycle is executed, all files to be archived are collected and stored on Archive and Replication devices. PoINT Archiver supports different technologies (tape, optical media) and devices (single drives, autoloaders, production systems, libraries), which can also be combined according to the user’s demands and specifications.

Moreover, PoINT Tiered Archive Files System (PoINT TAFS) allows the additional protection against non-authorized manipulations of files stored in the source directory located on the PoINT Archiver server (including permanent WORM mode). This way, the existing system will become part of a tiered archival concept.
