To ensure a reliable backup of 400 TB of data and one billion objects, the software manufacturer opted for the tape-based object storage solution PoINT Archival Gateway. PoINT Data Replicator performs a "forever incremental backup," storing the data on tape media in a library with the help of PoINT Archival Gateway. By replicating only modifications, the backup process becomes significantly more efficient. ControlExpert uses the erasure coding functionality of PoINT Archival Gateway to create two tapes with identical data sets, each stored at different locations. These measures enable ControlExpert to implement a comprehensive backup strategy for its object data using PoINT Archival Gateway and PoINT Data Replicator.
